The most adept writers move seamlessly between genres, audiences, and purposes to craft text—with or without images—with strategic precision. Julie Patterson is one of those writers, whether the work is creative, instructional, or persuasive—or, in the most effective scenarios, perhaps all three.
Julie’s writing has appeared in Gravel, The Same, The Juggler, Marketing Computers, and on the This I Believe segment on WFYI-FM, the National Public Radio affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also serves as creative nonfiction co-editor for Mud Season Review, an international literary journal.
Julie serves as writer-in-residence for the Partnership for Inquiry Learning at Butler University, making the work that writers do visible to teachers and students in grades preK-8. She is also senior associate faculty in the department of English at IUPUI.
